Intro to our Artists: Jim Lawton

Jim Lawton’s work incorporates garnet making techniques to create vessels and sculptures that explore concepts ranging from the history of ceramics to the written word.

He is also an experienced juror including, most recently, the new 500 Teapots book and will share his thoughts on galleries and shows.
Come see Jim Lawton’s presentation at Convergence on November 2nd & 3rd! Registration open now!

Intro to our Artists: Chris Archer

Chris Archer is a ceramic artist who’s work encompasses everything from large scale institutional work to wheel thrown functional poetry. His work examines the connections between people and objects. The connection to the viewer and the questions that you develop while observing the piece serve to engage and perpetuate the ambiguous nature of the work.

Come see Chris at Convergence! November 2nd & 3rd at Rhode Island College, registration open now!

Intro to our Artists: Avery Lucas

Rhode Island College is proud to welcome BFA Metals Alumna Avery Lucas as our Keynote Speaker. After finishing her Bachelor’s at Rhode Island College Avery went on to achieve her Masters degree in Metalsmithing at UMass.

Avery is an immensely skilled metalsmith with an expertise in repoussé. She will be joining us at Convergence with the Keynote Address and giving a demonstration of metalsmithing techniques.

See more of Avery’s art at www.AveryLucasArt.com

& Join us on November 2nd & 3rd for Convergence at Rhode Island College to see Avery’s demos live and in person! Registration is open now!
